A lot of people shopping for an engagement ring come across another type of ring during their search: the wedding ring!

And while there is some confusion about the difference between the two, the real difference between them is when the rings are exchanged. Let’s break it down.

In past traditions, typically the bride pays for the wedding bands for both bride and groom but this has become an obsolete practice as more and more couples merge their finances prior to marriage and cover the expense together.
