From Inspiration to a Finished Engagement Ring
One of the advantages of designing a custom engagement ring is the ability to make decisions that would be difficult—or impossible—to make when choosing from a collection of predetermined settings.
Diamond shape, proportions, band width, metal, prong style, setting height, accent stones, hidden details and countless other elements can all be considered together rather than individually.
Sometimes those decisions are aesthetic. Others are highly practical: keeping a center diamond as low as possible, allowing a future wedding band to sit flush, finding the right balance between a delicate appearance and structural integrity, or adjusting proportions to complement a particular center stone.

The Diamond Is Only Part of the Design

Creating a Ring That Feels Personal

Jeff's Wedding Band, Family Style
Our clients came to us as he prepared to unite two families through marriage. They envisioned a ring that would symbolize not only their love for one another, but also the five children who would become part of a single family. They affectionately refer to their family as their "Beehive", which inspired their family motif.
Every detail of the ring was designed with purpose. Handcrafted in Los Angeles in rich 18K yellow gold, the band features individually sculpted bees woven throughout an intricate honeycomb-inspired design. Five carefully selected gemstones—a diamond, sapphire, garnet, aquamarine, and emerald—represent each of the five children, ensuring every member of the family has a permanent place within the design.
Perhaps the most remarkable detail lies between the gemstones.
The honeycomb cells were inlaid with metal recovered from genuine ancient Roman bronze coins, adding a connection to history and creating a contrast between modern craftsmanship and materials dating back thousands of years. It's an unexpected detail that makes an already meaningful ring truly one of one.
